Blake Griffin, a professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets, has a unique family background. His father, Tommy Griffin, is of Afro-Haitian descent, and his mother, Gail Griffin, is white. 

Both of his parents are Americans, and his father was a star athlete at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. Blake and his older brother, Taylor, were homeschooled by their mother until they reached high school. They both developed a love for basketball at a young age and honed their skills at their father’s gym.

Blake’s father was also his high school basketball coach and helped lead the Oklahoma Christian School to two state basketball championships. 

Blake continued to play basketball in college and won the National College Player of the Year award before entering the 2009 NBA Draft, where he was selected as the first overall pick by the LA Clippers.

Despite suffering from injuries, Blake has adapted his game and remains a formidable player in the NBA. He rose to fame for his impressive dunks during his time with the “Lob City Clippers” and is now known as one of the league’s most popular players.

With a resume that includes playing for the North Western University Rangers and leading Classen High School to two state championships as a coach, it’s no wonder that he was met with so much acclaim when accepting the position of coach at Oklahoma Christian High School.

Under his leadership, the program earned multiple awards for an inspiring performance. Outside of his professional accomplishments, he also ran his own gym where Blake and Taylor worked out, adding further to his impressive portfolio.

Gail Griffin, also known as Gail Simmons, was a talented cheerleader and teacher. She effectively managed both her family and her career. As a dedicated mother, she homeschooled her sons until they reached the eighth grade.

With her exceptional organizational skills, Gail was able to balance her responsibilities and excel in all areas of her life.
