Socialite-turned-DJ Paris Hilton’s wedding to Carter Reum was documented in their reality series on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock.
Hilton married Reum in a three-day-long ceremony in November 2021, and the two went on an enviable honeymoon around the world.
The star of The Simple Life has been loving married life thus far, telling People Magazine that she loves being Reum’s wife.
“We had the most amazing honeymoon for seven weeks around the world, but I’m so glad to be able to be at home with my husband,” she said. “It’s the best feeling to get to build these new adventures in life with my person.”
Hilton’s nuptials were a serious point of discussion on social media, as it seemed as though the world was eagerly waiting to see who would finally get to call himself Paris Hilton’s husband.
Reum, an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, was just the person to fit the bill.
“Being married is such a great new chapter for both of us,” Hilton stated.
She has spoken candidly about her relationship with Reum, gushing about finally finding the person she always wanted to spend her life with.
“We’ve been so close and inseparable the past two years together so it’s always felt like we’re married. Only that it’s felt I’m so excited for this next chapter in our life and to start a family together. [He’s] my best friend so it feels so safe getting to grow together,” she told the magazine.
After decades of Paris Hilton fans watching her drift in and out of relationships, some were shocked that she had finally decided to settle down.
The news that she was engaged to Carter Reum had heads spinning as everyone took to the Internet to find out more about her husband-to-be.
Carter Reum’s Net Worth
The Internet sleuths proved their worth when they dug up whatever they could find about the future Mr. Paris Hilton.
Reum is a venture capitalist whose father was the former president, chairman, and CEO of the Chicago-based Amsted Industries.
Amsted Industries is one of the United States’ largest private enterprises and is valued at $4 billion.
Reum inherited a whopping $7 million after his father’s death, building up a net worth impressive enough to attract the Hilton heiress.
A source close to Reum claimed:
“It may not be Hilton money — but it’s significant.”
Due to his inheritance and personal endeavors, Reum has accumulated a net worth of around $40 million, roughly $260 million less than Hilton’s.
How Carter Reum Became An Entrepreneur?
Reum and his older brother Courtney, inspired by their father, decided to pursue careers in the venture capital world together.
They both began working at Goldman Sachs when they decided to launch their own business.
In their business advice book, Shortcut Your Startup, the brothers detailed the process of launching the acai spirits brand, Veev.
The brothers left the Midwest to set up shop in Los Angeles and were early investors of Snapchat, as well as the security firm Ring.
A close friend told Page Six,
“He and his brother started an investment firm called M13, which is named after the brightest constellation.Their thesis is that the stars shine brighter when they’re together.”
Although Reum began making big bucks at a fairly young age, the friend is adamant that he is not a “finance bro,” citing his Midwestern roots as a reason for why Reum does not openly discuss his finances.
Since their move to Los Angeles, the Reum brothers have invested in multiple consumer technology brands, from online pharmacies to banking platforms.
His Relationship With Paris Hilton
Reum had first met Hilton over fifteen years ago when he first moved to California.
The two began dating after she broke off her engagement with Chris Zylka in 2018.
Hilton did not consider rushing into another relationship until Reum’s sister invited her around for Thanksgiving in November 2019.
After reconnecting, the pair realized they were meant to be, and Hilton was finally ready to settle down.
“After my last breakup, I thought I was going to be alone forever. I was like, I give up. I’ll just focus on myself. I don’t need anyone. So to have actually fallen in love, I just feel so grateful,” Hilton said.
Opening up about why things had never seemed right before, she added:
“I don’t think I was ready for it before. I just always wanted what my mom and dad have. They’re best friends, he’s so loyal. I was always looking for that, but I was looking in the wrong places.”
In January 2021, Hilton spoke about beginning treatment for IVF, saying she and Reum had been discussing the idea of starting a family together. She announced their engagement via Instagram the following month.
Their Extravagant Wedding
Reum and Hilton’s lavish wedding was dissected in the Peacock reality docuseries Paris In Love, which followed the entire process of wedding prep to the ceremony itself.
The couple exchanged vows in the Hilton’s bel-air mansion on November 11, 2021.
Paris stunned guests in a custom Oscar de la Renta gown and veil, heavily inspired by Grace Kelly’s wedding gown during her marriage to Monaco’s Prince Rainer in the mid-1950s.
After their emotional vows, the two took to the dance floor to have the party of the year with all their friends and family.
While the wedding-planning process appeared to be extremely stressful and time-consuming, a friend of Reum’s stated that he was “unflappable”, adding:
“If you look at the promotional videos for the show, he’s hardly in it. The cameras capture him when he happens to be at home. He’s not a reality TV person. He would never reschedule work because he has a shoot or anything like that.”
Are They Planning On Having Kids?
Reum is already a father to a daughter he shares with reality star Laura Bellizzi.
Meanwhile, Hilton has been vocal about her desire to have multiple children over the years and has expressed her excitement about the process of IVF since her marriage to Reum.
She hopes to have twins but is praying that she will be able to deliver a healthy and happy baby by the end of this year.
