Chandler High School officials say crisis team members and counselors will be available on Nov. 4, after an apparent mental breakdown ended with the death of a student. Officials say some students witnessed the emergency.
The incident occurred on November 3rd when the student began to experience what appeared to be a health episode. The student was attended to by school staff and paramedics, but unfortunately succumbed to the breakdown and passed away.
School officials say they do not yet know the cause of death but are working with the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine a cause.
In the meantime, they are providing support for students and staff who witnessed the incident or who may be struggling with grief. Our thoughts are with the student’s family during this difficult time.
