The Book of Boba Fett is the latest television tie-in to the Star Wars universe.

After the success of The Mandalorian, it made sense for media giants Lucasfilm and Disney+ to create the next big hit linked to the film series.

Filled to the brim with surprise cameos, the series added actor and comedian David Pasquesi to the Star Wars repertoire of stars in the show’s premiere.

The Book of Boba Fett falls right after the Return of the Jedi in the universe’s timeline and follows the titular character as he and his assistant trek across galaxies to collect bounties.

What Was David Pasquesi’s Role?

The Groundhog Day and Veep star made a surprise appearance as the majordomo, a chief-of-staff who approaches the bounty hunter to offer a tribute on behalf of his boss.

Pasquesi’s character is at Tatooine to do more than simply hail Boba Fett; he is in search of a tribute of his own. 

The character refuses to bend the knee in the hopes he can gain something from the bounty hunter. 

His brief appearance ends with an angry departure from the planet, warning Fett that he will reappear to exact his revenge.

Aside from establishing a point of conflict in the series, the majordomo sets up intrigue into the goings-on of Jabba the Hutt’s lair. 

Unlike The Mandalorian, the show does not stick to the now well-recognized style of space western cinematography.

Hoping to focus more on the individual histories and development of the characters who were quickly cast aside in the original Star Wars trilogy, showrunners who Pasquesi’s character will enable viewers to be curious about what links the show will begin exploring.

What Is The Book of Boba Fett About?

Following the events of the Pedro Pascal-led series The Mandalorian, this sequel series follows bounty hunter Boba Fett (played by Temuera Morrison) as he takes his place as the new leader of space monster Jabba the Hutt’s palace.

Fett is joined by the assassin Fennec Shand, played by Marvel icon Ming-Na WEn, as they two navigate the underground crime ring Fett how has control over.

In Chapter 1, fans learned how Fett escaped the Sarlaac Pit he found himself in, and Pasquesi’s character just opened the door to seeing how Fett may struggle as the new crime boss in town.

A Bit About David Pasquesi

Pasquesi first rose to prominence in a series of minor appearances in Angels & Demons, At Home with Amy Sedaris, and the political comedy series, Veep.

Pasquesi is the perfect choice for a brief yet impactful role with nearly ninety credits to his name, and audiences can expect to see more of his charm in upcoming episodes.

His role as Selina Meyer’s sleazy ex-husband on Veep is his career-defining moment; playing the charming yet spiteful former husband to Julia Louis-Dreyfuss’ stressed-out Vice President presented the perfect opportunity for Pasquesi to show off his comedic chops.

Their characters’ tumultuous on-screen relationship culminates in the Madam Vice President refuses to assist her ex-husband in an embezzlement case, leaving the character to try and convincingly fake his own death.
