The Georgia Detention Officer video captured the illegal and inappropriate behavior of the now-former police lady with an inmate, leading to her termination and subsequent arrest.

On Wednesday, March 22, Kawana Jenkins was suspended after a videotape of her allegedly engaging in s*xual misconduct with an inmate was found on a contraband cellphone seized during a shakedown of the Fulton County Jail.

In the Kawana Jenkins video, which was taken sometime between December and March, Jenkins is seen sitting on the lap of inmate Jamal Ward, who is accused of murder, while licking and kissing his face.

According to a warrant, Ward can repeatedly be heard saying, “give ’em to me,” asking for a pair of Cartier glasses, which Jenkins eventually hands him.

Another cellphone was confiscated in March, which allegedly showed Jenkins s*cking and licking Ward’s finger while he was in custody.

Jenkins had been employed with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office since December 2019. Following her arrest, she was granted a $135,000 bond and is currently in custody in the jail where she used to work.

Fulton County court documents indicate that investigators discovered the forbidden relationship between Jenkins and Ward through their search of the contraband cell phone.

Fulton Sheriff Pat Labat stated that he was committed to transparency and holding each employee accountable following Jenkins’ arrest.

“The vast majority of employees are to be commended for their integrity, commitment to service and the work they do day in and day out,” the sheriff said.

“The actions of this one individual are certainly not a reflection of the men and women of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Labat said in a statement.

The authorities also revealed that she had a long-term relationship with the inmate.

He also emphasized that her actions did not reflect the majority of the men and women in the sheriff’s office, who are commended for their integrity, commitment to service, and daily work.

According to the sheriff’s office, Jenkins is facing charges for two counts of improper s*xual contact by an employee or agent, five counts of violation of oath by a public officer, two counts of reckless conduct, two counts of cruelty to inmates, and one count of obtain/procure/give inmate prohibited item without authorization.

Kawana Jenkins’ case is under investigation. She also made her first appearance in court this week.
