Heather Vandiver obituary was shared by her family, and they stated that she peacefully passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023.
She was 42 at the time of her death and began her journey into the hereafter surrounded by her loving family at her home.
Heather was born on April 13, 1981, in Evansville, and she was the cherished daughter of Dan and Marti Garrett.
The St. Vincent hospital nurse tied the knot with Justin C. Vandiver from Newburgh, and together they experienced deep love and joy in raising their three children named Addisyn Renee, Landon Jeffrey, and Raegan Kate Vandiver.
A faithful member of Christian Fellowship Church, Heather dedicated almost 25 years of her life to a nursing career at St. Vincent Hospital. Alongside her professional goals, she had a passion for long-distance running.
One of her friends and colleagues from the same hospital paid tribute to her and shared her feelings for her late friend.
Kendrea Van Vorst wrote on her Facebook profile, “Heather was one of the kindest souls I’ve ever met! She was an awesome nurse and I always loved working with her. She always knew how to make someone’s day better. Even in the end, she always asked me how I was doing and never once complained about her own situation. She always found the good in every situation, and I truly admire that about her. Heather, you will truly be missed and never forgotten. Rest easy, my friend. You deserve it.”
Mr. and Mrs. William Riggs, Heather’s beloved paternal grandparents, as well as Justin’s grandparents, Mr. Lewis Vandiver and Mrs. Marilyn Prados preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memories is her sister, Kendra Rorabaugh, from South Carolina, along with her caring maternal grandparents, Shannon and Shirley Garrett.
She is also survived by her dear in-laws, Jeff and Nancy Vandiver, her brothers-in-law, Jason Vandiver and Nathan Vandiver, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
