Exclusive interview of Jaslin Chua with vizaca, Jaslin has a strong believe on entrepreneurship and encourage all women to run their own business. In this interview, Jaslin shared a story of what inspired her to initiate a business and expand it to multiple countries.
Jaslin Chua, Tell us about yourself?
I grew up from a family of 8, squeezed in a 40sqm 1 room flat, this no doubt had created strong family bond, yet I know since young I needed to start earning for my education.
I started working at age 12 during all my vacations. From factory worker, selling Christmas card, CD album, apparel, fast food, data entry in the bank, event coordinator and managing flea market stores. Though was tiring, I enjoyed every moment of my work for I get to make so many friends and had learned so much about people skills and importance of a human relationship.
When I found my dream job in a prestigious private bank as an officer, I continued to pursue my night studies for my Financial Degree. Then was Financial crisis year 1997, while all my friends who graduate from overseas college couldn’t find a job for years yet I am blessed with a job and a promotion at the same time.
However, I knew ending as a private banker or financial planner or even later as real estate agent was not enough. That is when I started my entrepreneur journey in 2002, not long after the September 9/11 attacks, somehow this incident did send a loud message to me: “Life is short, you don’t know what will happen tomorrow, do what you desire in your heart, live your dreams and so you will never live in regrets.”
While in pursuit for success, I was living an unhealthy lifestyle, poor diet, late-night meeting and entertainment with clients, ample of flying for the business trip, experience business setbacks and failure with stress and poor sleep, my health went downhill.
I am not an “IRON Lady” after all, I developed severe skin eczema, migraine and gastric. Spend thousands in medication for 5 years but got worse. I never stop looking for a solution and finally recovered from this natural treatment from Taiwan. Immediately, I bought into the business and founded SimplyNature.Asia with my husband in 2007.
Till now, we had helped more than 30,000 people to regain their Health in a natural solution “Healthy is Sexy” way in Singapore, Philippines, Macau, Australia, Nigeria, Canada and soon Europe.
I had been residing in the Philippines since 2010 for business expansion and on the weekend I served in the local church as Sunday School Teacher.
I am also a Community Leader of Soul Rich Woman, Asia’s leading network in the Philippines for female entrepreneurs connecting over 10,000 women across the region; empowering women to succeed in life, business and health.
How did you get your idea or concept for the business?
After being a victim of lifestyle diseases for 5 years and personally went through the desperate times of seeking for remedy. I totally understand the meaning of Health is truly Wealth. I researched and found the great health issues raising throughout the world whether you like it or not, I saw this as an opportunity to set up SimplyNature.Asia to provide the natural solution to combat lifestyles diseases like obesity, high blood, high cholesterol, diabetes and even cancer right now.
By 2010, we had expanded our operation from Singapore to Philippines and Macau.
What’re your company’s goals?
SimplyNature aim to build a team of partners comprises of reputable health medical doctors, health nutritionist, naturopathic doctors, health chains and health organization to educate and equip them with our latest and natural solutions for their patients and clients.
My personal mission is to bring across the message of:
“Stop CANCER NOW!” , “Start Anti-Aging NOW!”, “Healthy is Sexy”.
How do you market your business? How are people aware of your business?
Our products and services are currently available through Retail Channels, our online stores, also platform like Lazada, Shoppe and Social Media Marketing as well. We also provide health talk to medical doctors and health chain for branding building and awareness exercise.
How do you advertise your business?
From Digital and Social media advertising to health magazine and health clinics.
What made you choose this type of business?
With constant raising numbers of people all over the world suffering from lifestyle diseases and now more people are suffering from cancer, my heart goes out to them. Having gone through the pain and stress to recover from my illness (skin eczema, migraine and gastric) and later found a natural solution to my problem, I want to empower people to believe they can be healed, vibrant, sharp and magnetic again!

If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
You must be passionate about what you are offering to the world and take MASSIVE Actions.

I would have started the business as young as 14 years old.
