Jeff Beck’s Cause Of Death – How Did He Die?

Jeff Beck's Cause Of Death

Jeff Beck was a legendary musician, earning several Grammy Awards and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Fans worldwide who have spent decades listening to his classic licks were shocked to find out that he passed away at the age of 78 on January 11th, 2022. The cause of death was a brief battle with meningitis.

He will be dearly remembered for his immense impact on music as an innovator and guitarist. His timeless music will remain with us in memory for years ahead.

“On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of Jeff Beck’s passing,” they said in a statement. “After suddenly contracting bacterial meningitis, he peacefully passed away yesterday. His family asks for privacy while they process this tremendous loss.”

Meningitis, which can be bacterial or viral is an infection and inflammation of the fluid and membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord,” according to the Mayo Clinic

Despite being more uncommon than its viral counterpart, bacterial meningitis is by far the more severe of the two, according to the organization, which notes that delayed treatment increases the risk of permanent brain damage and that it “can cause death within days without prompt antibiotic treatment.”

English rock guitarist Geoffrey Arnold Beck first gained notoriety with the Yardbirds before leading the Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice.

Beck received eight Grammy awards throughout his impressive career, including 18 studio albums from 1968 to 2022.

His last album, 18, was a joint effort with longtime buddy Johnny Depp, who memorably shared a stage with the singer during the actor’s trial for allegedly assaulting Amber Heard in May.

The vocalist of “Going Down,” who throughout the years has performed both alone and with other bands, such as the Yardbirds and his own Jeff Beck Group, started a tour last fall and toured the nation with Depp, 59, ZZ Top, and Ann Wilson.

Due to personality conflicts and Jeff’s illness, he left the Yardbirds and started the Jeff Beck Group. They released two albums with Rod Stewart and Ron Wood and “refused to play Woodstock before Beck split the group, leaving Stewart and Wood to join Faces.”

Jeff Beck made a name for himself as a prolific guitarist, opening doors for future generations of musicians, even though his solo career never really took off.

Condolences were sent his way

Fans and other musicians used social media to express their sorrow over the passing of a guy whose talent and tenacity was unmatched.
