An investigative series 20/20 broadcasted an episode about the missing case of Jodi and gave out some news about her case that they did not share with the public before.
A new suspect, Thomas Corscadden, a sentenced sex offender, was imprisoned. He was said to be head over heels after Jodi. He also had a white van, which made him suspicious.
This can be linked to the same van seen in the parking lot of Jodi.
Not only this but also heard him talking about Jodi’s death in the prison. Therefore, a warrant was issued against him to take his palm prints to match them against the one found on Jodi’s car.
The investigators didnt receive much co-operation from Thomas, and therefore the prints have been matched as yet.
The episode concluded when one of the investigators stated that they might know who was behind this. Still, they’ll only reveal once they are finished with the investigation and have complete concrete evidence against the person.
Jodi Huisentruit – The Case
Jodi Huisentruit shifted to Iowa, Mason City, from Minnesota, in 1993. She lived on Kentucky avenue, and she was appointed as a news anchor for KIMT, the CBS affiliate in Mason City, and moved into an apartment complex on Kentucky Avenue.
Soon, she becomes an active participant and contributing member of the community.
Being a news anchor, she made several friends and became the local favorite and no haters.
It was a regular working day on 27th June 1995, and she was supposed to work on her standard timings when Jodi didnt arrive on time, the producer Amy called Jodi in the morning at 3.50 a.m to know her whereabouts.
She awoke by the call, and Both of them had a normal conversation on the phone; and Jodi woke up to get dressed for work as she had enough time to produce the show.
Amy didnt find anything suspicious in Jodi’s behavior and assumed that she overslept and was late to work.
Tho Amy filled up her position with another anchor; she got worried when Jodi didnt arrive until 6 a.m., the showtime.
Meanwhile, Amy sent over someone to Jodi’s place to know whether she was doing fine or maybe she was stuck somewhere or something might have happened to her.
The person found Jodi’s personal belongings, including her heels, blow dryer, hair spray, jewelry, and her car key scattered in the parking lot around her car, a red Mazda Miata.
Investigation By The Police
Soon after, she called the police to investigate the scene. The police searched her complex apartment too, but she wasn’t found anywhere.
With her personal belonging being all over the place, away from her, the police followed up the evidence that hinted that she had been forcibly taken away while she was leaving for work in her car.
The police did find the palm print from her vehicle but could not identify it.
Upon investigation by the neighbors and people around, they acknowledged that they heard Jodi’s screams while she was leaving for work.
One of the neighbors also told them about a white Ford Econoline van being spotted in the parking lot of Jodi with a running engine and lights switched on at the same time when she went Huisentruit went missing.
However, the van too was never found.
Later in the evening, the Mason police, who collaborated with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, launched a search funded by the FBI for her in the afternoon, but there was no clue of Jodi.
The rescue teams searched the streets while the divers and police dogs searched near the Winnebago River and its banks. But she was found nowhere.
The short of physical proof, no eye witness, and no apparent motive for kidnapping hindered the investigating officers.
The investigation continued, but she wasn’t found anywhere. The police suspected that she was kidnapped by a stalker, but they didnt have enough evidence. Jodi’s family and the Mason city were puzzled and hoping to find out about her soon.
Appointment Of Private Investigator
The family appointed private deductors in Minnesota from Mc Carthy and associates with Doug Jasa, another private investigator, in November 1995.
They found several leads and appeared on TV shows discussing the case, but generated no concrete information from the proofs. The family met the private investigators in California to follow up on the case, and the entire meeting was recorded and broadcast at psychic Detectives.

In 1998, A serial rapist, Tony Dejuan Jackson, confessed to his prison mate that he killed her and buried her in Tiffian near a farm.
Tony lived just two blocks away from Jodi’s apartment and was twenty-one at that time. However, she wasn’t found anywhere over there.
Around 100 volunteers searched for Jodi in the area of Cerro Gordo County and mark evidence through the flag. All of these sites were examined by the law officials, in May 1996. They were still not able to find any factual evidence.
The police and private investigators interviewed more than 1000 people but none of them were able to give them promising evidence about the situation or abduction.

Another possible suspect is Jodi’s friend, John Vansice. He was one of the last people to see her before she vanished. On the night before her disappearance, she went to his home, where showed her a video of her birthday party (which he planned).
Police issued an order for a GPS data search among the two cars. However, nothing was on a clear side.
In June 2008, Jodi’s personal journal was anonymously sent to a local newspaper. It had 84 copies in total. Soon, the police found out that it was sent by the spouse of the former Mason police chief. However, no prominent evidence was found behind the journal.
