Dr. Hermann passed away suddenly and tragically on Monday, the clinic reported in a new Facebook post.

The notice stated that the appointments had been postponed for Monday, December 5th, due to an emergency. 

Veterinarian Dr. John Hermann, a well-known figure in Metro Detroit, passed away in a collision in Van Buren Township. 

Hermann crossed the center line and collided head-on with another car around 1:40 p.m., according to Van Buren Police, while traveling south on Rawsonville close to the Huron River. It’s unclear why he went over the limit. 

Hermann, 53, of Inkster, passed away, while a guy from Sumpter Township had minor wounds. 

A 47-year-old guy from Ypsilanti was also hurt in the collision. He was unharmed. 

Hermann operated a mobile veterinary clinic in southeast Michigan for dogs and cats.

He was well-known for his affordable wellness vaccination clinics for animals.
