On Tuesday night, Michigan’s largest county unanimously certified its presidential results, showing their Democrat the present elected President of The United States, Mr. Joe Biden defeating the Former President Donald Trump. A few hours later, the Republicans blocked the formal approval of voters’ intentions.
The Wayne county board of canvassers acted after their 2-2 tie as an initial move which was quickly condemned by Democrats, election experts and the meeting’s online spectators as a dangerous attempt to overthrow the will of voters.
Joshua Douglas, a law professor at the University of Kentucky stated that,
“We depend on democratic norms, including that the losers graciously accept defeat. That seems to be breaking down.”
The present elected President of the United States, Mr. Joe Biden won Michigan by more than 148,000 votes, a victory made possible by a strong showing in Wayne County, where he netted more than 322,000 votes over The Former President, Mr. Donald Trump, which is a rare and extraordinary move.
Each state certifies its election results and the Electoral College meets Dec. 14 to codify the results, but still Former President Mr. Trump cannot handle Mr. Biden’s victory against him. So Mr. Trump and his allies keep attacking the integrity of the election and numerous lawsuits aimed at slowing down the formal vote certification process.
