Moonbin ASTRO parents, Kim Hyosun and Cheongju, originally belong to South Korean ethnicity.

His parents played a vital role in shaping his career and encouraging his aspirations to become a performer.

He had a special bond with his mother, Kim, as evidenced by the pictures he shared of them on social media.

Moonbin was a K-pop singer and was part of the popular ASTRO group. Sadly, on April 19, 2023, Moonbin ASTRO passed away.

The Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced on the 20th that Moonbin was found dead at his home in Gangnam-gu around 8:10 PM on the 19th.

Moon’s agency, Fantagio, said, “First of all, I would like to apologize for conveying the heartbreaking and heartbreaking news. In shock, I am deeply mourning the deceased.”

On April 20, 2023, Fantagio, the agency, said that according to the wishes of the Moonbin ASTRO parents, his funeral would be held privately.

Police are reviewing an autopsy to investigate the exact Moonbin ASTRO cause of death.

Reports said his manager found him dead at his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 08:10 PM yesterday evening.

However, as per some reports suggested that Moonbin ASTRO died from suicide.

Moonbin ASTRO funeral will be set up at the Asan Hospital in Seoul’s funeral hall. His funeral arrangements are scheduled for 08:00 AM on April 22, 2023.

Moonbin ASTRO’s journey from child actor to K-pop star

Moonbin, who was born on January 26, 1998, in Cheongju, Chungbuk Province, went to Hanlim Multi Art School, where he studied Practical Music and graduated.

Moonbin ASTRO parents raised him with a younger sister named Moon Sua, who is a member of the South Korean girl group Billie.

Starting his career in the entertainment industry as a child actor, Moonbin participated in different TV dramas and movies.

Additionally, he was a trainee at Fantagio Entertainment, where he improved his singing and dancing abilities.

In 2006, he appeared in TVXQ’s ‘Balloon’ music video as a child U-Know Yunho and received attention as ‘Little TVXQ.’

However, Moonbin ASTRO parents played a vital role in crafting their son’s career by supporting and guiding him on each step of Moonbin’s life.

In 2009, he appeared in the KBS 2TV drama ‘Boys Over Flowers’ as the child role of So Yi-Jeong (played by Kim Bum).

In 2015, he participated in the survival reality show “To Be Continued,” which documented the training and debut process of a new boy group called i-Teen Boys, which later became ASTRO.

Moonbin debuted on February 23, 2016, with their first mini-album, “Spring Up.” He swiftly received attention for his quick dance steps and stunning visuals.

After making his official debut as Astro in 2016, he took on the main and sub-vocal roles in the team and showed outstanding skills. 

Moonbin played a central role in songs such as ‘Breathless,’ ‘Confession,’ ‘I Should’ve Held You,’ and ‘Baby’ with his unique sweet voice.

Moonbin has also participated in OSTs for various dramas, including “Mermaid Prince” and “The Best Hit.”

He formed the unit Moonbin & Sanha with the same group member Sanha and has been active in activities such as releasing three albums until recently. 

In particular, they planned their first solo fan-con ‘DIFFUSION’ 2 years and six months after their unit debut this year and performed in Seoul, Manila, and Bangkok from March.

In June 2016, the ‘DIFFUSION’ world tour was scheduled in three South American countries: Mexico City, Sao Paulo, and Santiago.

Moonbin has since released multiple more albums with ASTRO, including ‘Switch On,’ ‘All Light,’ and ‘Summer Vibes.’

The K-pop singer was also active in a variety of shows and dramas. 

He showed off his clever yet cute charm by regularly appearing on variety shows such as ‘Trendy Program,’ ‘Sikvengers,’ and ‘SNL Korea.’ He also showed unique acting in the drama ‘At Eighteen’ and the ‘Mermaid Prince series.

He was famous as a ‘brother and sister idol’ along with his younger sister Moon Soo-ah.

Moonbin ASTRO sister, Moon Soo-ah, is active as a member of the group Billy. 

These siblings made headlines last year in 2022 by performing together on the stage of “Candy in My Ear” on KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank.”

Afterward, the two of them appeared together on the variety show ‘House Register Mate,’ revealing their strong family love.
However, at that time, Moonbin made a wish, “I hope Sua will always be happy,” and moved the viewers.
