In Kosciusko, Mississippi, Oprah Winfrey was born on January 29, 1954. She was brought up by her grandmother after her parents separated their ways. By the age of three, she was taught to read and started skipping school. Oprah moved to live with her mother in Milwaukee, at the age of six.
