What Role Did Officer Rolf Mueller Play In Arresting Jeffrey Dahmer?

Rolf Mueller

Rolf Mueller was one of the officers who responded to the call about a suspicious man wandering the streets. When they arrived, they found Jeffrey Dahmer and asked him what he was doing.

Dahmer told them that he was looking for his car, which had broken down. But Mueller didn’t believe him and asked to see some ID.

Dahmer refused and tried to walk away, so Mueller grabbed his arm to stop him. At that point, Dahmer began struggling, and Mueller had to call for backup. Dahmer was eventually subdued and taken into custody.

Officer Rolf Mueller Realized That Dahmer Might Be A Serial Killer

Dahmer was finally caught on July 22, 1991, when police officers Robert Rauth and Rolf Mueller responded to a call from a man named Tracy Edwards, who claimed that he had been drugged and handcuffed by Dahmer.

When the officers arrived at Dahmer’s apartment, they found Edwards naked and bleeding from the head.

Edwards told the officers that Dahmer had offered him money to pose for photos, but then had drugged him and tried to handcuff him to the bed. Dahmer had also taken nude photos of Edwards while he was unconscious.

The officers arrested Dahmer and searched his apartment. In the bedroom, they found Polaroid pictures of dismembered bodies and body parts, as well as a large blue barrel that contained chemicals and human remains.

In the kitchen, they found a freezer containing more human remains. In total, the police found eleven corpses in Dahmer’s apartment, as well as four heads in his fridge.

Dahmer was charged with ten counts of first-degree murder, and he confessed to all of the murders during police questioning. He was sentenced to life in prison in 1992, and he was killed by a fellow inmate in 1994.

What Did Officer Rolf Mueller Do Afterwards?

When Rolf Mueller saw what was in Dahmer’s apartment, he immediately called for backup. He then cleared the apartment and began searching for evidence.

Mueller found a Polaroid of a shirtless man with his head cut off. He also found a small plastic container with what appeared to be human flesh inside.

In addition, Mueller discovered a blue barrel in the corner of the room that contained a foul-smelling liquid. Based on the evidence he found, Mueller concluded that Dahmer was a serial killer.

He then placed Dahmer under arrest and notified the district attorney’s office.

Mueller later said that he didn’t think anything of it at the time, but in retrospect, he realized that Dahmer must have been scouting out potential victims.

He said that Dahmer gave him “the creeps” and he was glad that they were able to stop him before he could hurt anyone else.
