People are curious to find out about Spencer Dinwiddie’s girlfriend.
After the news broke, Spencer Dinwiddie took to Twitter and announced his uplifting sentiments on being traded to the new team.
Soon after, he posted a heartwarming photo of himself with his longtime girlfriend, Arielle Roberson, and their son Elijah.
Fans responded quickly, showering him with admiration for choosing happiness in this difficult time. While nothing can replace being separated from friends and family during a trade, Dinwiddie chose to share a moment of joy with those closest to him.
His post was a testament to his courage in making such a quick transition while keeping those he cares about most foremost in his life.
Spencer Dinwiddie shares a touching post for his son, Elijah
Spencer Dinwiddie was not caught off guard when he heard the news about returning to the Mavericks – everyone had already found out from social media.
Despite his bags not being packed and having to leave last minute with his son Elijah, he took it in good stride.
Spencer Dinwiddie has a particularly special relationship with Elijah, which can be seen in a touching post on Instagram last year when he wished his son a happy birthday.
In the message, Spencer mentioned how Elijah’s greatest accomplishment up to that point was the look on his face. Clearly, there’s nothing more important to Spencer than being a dedicated father.
Who is Arielle Roberson?
Spencer Dinwiddie’s girlfriend, Arielle Roberson, definitely has basketball in her blood. Arielle met Spencer back in college when she was playing for the University of Colorado’s Buffaloes, and he was playing for the Colorado State Rams.
She also played four years at Wagner High School in San Antonio, Texas, where she was said to average 18.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 3.0 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game during her senior year.
Furthermore, while at Colorado, she totaled 12.1 points per game along with 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists over two years before ending her collegiate career on a high note in 2014 when the program went to its first Sweet 16 since 2004.
Even though Arielle and Spencer are not married yet, they welcomed son Elijah into the world in 2018, proving that they were ready to make a family no matter what circumstances may have stopped them if they weren’t prepared for such a commitment.
Clearly, there is a dedication between Arielle and Spencer beyond basketball, as demonstrated by their recent life decision.
Trade of Spencer Dinwiddie
As confirmed by CBS Sports’ Bill Reiter, the Brooklyn Nets are trading Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks.
The Nets will receive Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, an unprotected first-round draft pick in 2029, and two second-round picks in exchange for Irving.
The All-Star guard requested a trade after contract extension talks with the Nets failed and has now joined his fourth team in seven seasons. The teams officially announced the trade on Monday night.
Jalen Brunson, the Mavericks former scoring guard, left the team to join the New York Knicks during the summer, leaving Luka Doncic to carry a heavy offensive load.
Reports suggest that Doncic wasn’t thrilled with the situation, which prompted the Mavericks to make a trade to bring in help.
Kyrie Irving, who is older and more expensive than Brunson, is a proven talent, having won a championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
He will bring a new level of support to Doncic and the Mavericks, allowing Doncic to rest on some possessions. The Mavericks have a strong supporting cast of 3-and-D role players, which, combined with the skills of Doncic and Irving, should make the team more competitive in the postseason.
