Her body was discovered later that day at a retention pond at the end of the cul-de-sac where she lived.
She had received 114 stab wounds, and Aiden Fucci was charged with her murder. The sentencing hearings started on Tuesday, and he faces a sentence ranging from 40 years to life in prison, as he pleaded guilty to first-degree murder.
Fucci and Bailey attended the same school, and several emails were sent to the Patriot Oaks Academy principal, deputies with the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, and prosecutors.
Fucci’s acquaintance allegedly asked Bailey out the night she was last seen alive, and they met at his home.
His sweatshirt wasn’t found, and he allegedly had a bag of clothes in the forest to change into. He was charged with repeatedly stabbing Bailey in a forested section of the Durbin Crossing neighborhood in St. Johns.
Her body was discovered several hours later, less than a half-mile from his house.
