Who Is Justin Roiland?

Mark Justin Roiland is a famous American voice actor, writer, animator, producer, and director who is best known for being the co-creator of the popular Adult Swim series Rick and Morty, in which he voices the main characters, Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith.

He is also the co-creator of the Hulu show Solar Opposites, where he voices the lead character Korvo. Roiland has also lent his voice to other popular shows such as Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, and Fish Hooks.

He is also the founder of his own animation studio, Justin Roiland’s Solo Vanity Card Productions, and a video game studio called Squanch Games.

Why is Justin Roiland dropped by Adult Swims?

Adult Swim has severed its ties with Justin Roiland after the animator and actor were charged with the offense of domestic violence against an ex-girlfriend.

Roiland, 42, has pleaded not guilty and will appear in the trial for the alleged incident that occurred in 2020. The official Rick and Morty Twitter account announced the news on Tuesday.

Rick and Morty, an animated sci-fi sitcom, will continue to be produced despite the departure of Justin Roiland.

The show’s co-creator Dan Harmon will now be the only showrunner, and Roiland’s voice parts will be replaced.

The staff and cast are now working on season seven, which was scheduled to premiere this year, according to the show’s official statement on Twitter, although it is unknown whether Roiland’s dismissal would result in any delays. Roiland will still be credited for co-creating the series.

According to prior reports, Adult Swim ordered 70 episodes of Rick and Morty in 2018, securing the show for a tenth season. NBC News reported earlier this month, citing a draft of the criminal complaint, that Roiland had been charged with domestic assault.

After studying court documents, DailyMail.com later confirmed this. On January 12, Roiland made an appearance in court in Orange County, California after entering a not-guilty plea to two felony charges of domestic violence with serious bodily harm and false imprisonment.

The initial criminal allegations brought against Roiland in May 2020 were unreported at the time. The claims are based on an event that took place on January 19, 2020.

A woman named Jane Doe, who was seeing Roiland, allegedly made accusations against him.

The police statement that supported Roiland’s imprisonment, along with the bodycam footage, investigative reports, and many other case records, remained secret. After being detained in August 2020, Roiland was freed on a $50,000 bail.

He entered a not-guilty verdict to both accusations during his hearing in October 2020, and the matter has moved on in the courtroom without generating any media interest up until this point.
