Aiming to modernize how companies handle internal tech support, San Francisco-based startup Console has secured $6.2 million in seed funding to expand its AI-powered Slack assistant, which automates routine IT tasks. The funding round was led by Thrive Capital, with participation from several prominent backers in the AI and enterprise tech space.
The Problem
IT departments around the globe are overwhelmed—not by complex system architecture, but by constant, repetitive requests: resetting passwords, provisioning app access, answering basic troubleshooting questions. These mundane tasks consume valuable time and distract skilled professionals from higher-impact work.
Console was built to fix this.
The Solution
At its core, Console’s product is a conversational AI assistant that lives directly inside Slack. It handles common employee requests without requiring human intervention. The tool is trained to address over half of the typical tickets that flood IT help desks—such as “I can’t access Google Drive” or “Please reset my login credentials.”
More complex inquiries get routed to human agents, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
According to the company, integration is seamless and rollout takes just a few weeks. Companies like Scale AI, Flock Safety, and Calendly are already using the platform to streamline internal support and reduce response times.
From Security to Support Automation
Console is the brainchild of Andrei Serban, a former product leader at Rippling and founder of the cybersecurity firm Fuzzbuzz, which was acquired by Rippling in 2023. Serban’s background in enterprise software and infrastructure security played a pivotal role in building a tool that’s not just fast—but safe, scalable, and smart.
“Support is a bottleneck across every department,” Serban said in a statement. “We’re starting with IT because the need is massive—but the long-term vision is broader.”
Backed by Thrive, with an Eye on Expansion
Leading the funding round, Thrive Capital is betting that Console will become a core workplace tool. The VC firm has also invested in major AI players like OpenAI and Scale AI, giving it a strong track record in the space.
“Console is building an interface layer between employees and enterprise systems,” said Vince Hankes, Partner at Thrive. “We think this is the future of internal operations.”
With the new funding, Console plans to expand its AI into additional internal domains, including HR, legal, and finance—essentially becoming the go-to assistant for all employee needs.
The Future of Workplace Support
As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the workplace, Console is positioned at the intersection of automation and enterprise efficiency. By reducing the load on IT teams and offering employees real-time answers, it delivers both speed and relief where it’s needed most.
Console isn’t just building a chatbot—it’s laying the foundation for smarter, frictionless internal support across modern organizations.
